Hi
Just to clarify. What platform is in question here ?
As a general idea, one needs to meet all the hardware and software pre-requisites from an OS standpoint first and then build the cluster itself.
Based on the strategy chosen, aka having II_SYSTEM locally on each node or on the shared disk/file system/clustered file system, Ingres needs to be installed accordingly. I personally preferred to use II_SYSTEM on the shared disk and all that, and run the installation having II_HOSTNAME variable defined using the same value as the cluster name. After the installation , put the same II_HOSTNAME variable with the same cluster name value using ingsetenv command .
Disable the Ingres service to start automatically and start configuring the cluster to encompass Ingres.
Again, depending on the platform, there are variations on how to setup the Ingres service in a clustered environment.
Regards,
Armand
