Hi,
I have a Swing Frame on which there is a JTextfield which accepts float values and when the value entered like "1.04789" is rounded to 1.049 by Ingres SQL when stored in database. But when the same value retreived and populated in Frame's textfield, it shows the value (i.e..1.04789) what i have entered. Can anyone help how can i access Ingres SQL float4() method in java and is there any .jar for accessing the function?

I'm having problems extending the width of a tablefield.

I have a form which consists of a large number of columns enclosed within a tablefield and I want to give the users the ability to resize columns as required. I have hit an issue where all of the end columns get squashed up against the right side of the enclosing tablefield. Is there any way of being able to extend the width on the tablefield when a user resizes a column?

Cheers

Hi everyone,

On Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 8PM to 10PM PST, our online documentation (docs.ingres.com) will be unavailable as we roll out a new online documentation system. The new documentation system sports vast improvements in searchability and leverages comment and ratings capability to allow our community to provide feedback on our documentation. We've made many major improvements under the covers to docs.ingres.com as well -- most apparent of which will increase the speed at which we post documentation online and update existing documentation.

Expected cutover time should be no more than 15 minutes; however, we have scheduled two hours to account for unforeseen challenges. During this time, docs.ingres.com may be unavailable or operating with limited availability. If you need access to Ingres documentation during this time, please download our PDF documentation bundles from http://esd.ingres.com/product/docs.

Thanks,

There have been several questions

Over the last few days I have taken a look at the requirements and have built an addon that will enable Vectorwise folder structures to be backed up alongside the Ingres database files.

The rollforward of the checkpoint will replace the IVW data file and associated lock file

Note:
1. No users should eb connected to the database when a checkpoint is taken.
2. It is upto the DBA to ensure that there is sufficient space to take an Ingres VectorWise backup
3. All Ingres VectorWise datafiles are backedp up to the primary checkpoint location (II_CHECKPOINT)

4. When rolling forward a database, the Ingres VectorWise file will only be restored from teh checkpoint if the VectorWise engine is stopped before the rollforward is started.

The addon makes use of a modified chtmpl_wrap script to manage the Ingreds ectorWise backup and recovery steps AFTER successful processing of the Ingres Database.

Does VW support Ingres Bit-wise functions in the where clause? We would like to combine multiple bits as an int on a column, then filter out rows based on a bit mask.

If it's not supported, we are thinking split multiple bits as separate columns as char(1). Any better suggestion? Thanks.
I'm new to the ingres architecture, just wondering if some one could give me a tip as to the best way to clear the relevant cache's qep's etc to simulate queries that have not been run before?
