Hi Erick,
unloaddb will just move the database and underlying tables. Objects that will NOT be copied (because they are not stored in your database) include: Object code: Generally not a problem because applications can be recompiled on the target machine. However, to save time on large applications, developers sometimes manually copy object code to the target machine if the target machine has the same processor as the source machine. INGRES provides no utilities for copying object code and the procedure is not supported by technical support. Source code: This includes ABF/OSL source files, EQUEL and ESQL source files and any third-generation source code files. Other compiled Objects: Including compiled forms or any objects referenced in OSL by the keywords "call <subsystem>". This note will offer some suggestions for keeping track of OSL source files when moving databases. See your query language reference manuals for details of the copyapp "-s" flag for moving source files that are not stored in the database. HTH Divya |
