Default OpenRoad 2006 Display Problems

Hello,

I'm in the process of converting a OR4.1 application into OR2006 and I have come across a very odd problem in terms of displaying entry fields and table fields. When clicking on an entry field you get what looks like a doubling up of the Outline Border (currently set to Solid, LW_Minimum) with the text shifting. It's almost as if it redraws the entry field on top of the current field leaving the old border behind. Also with table fields you get problems when scrolling down as OpenRoad then fills in the row seperators and column seperators on the active column even though they are set to No line - again the text shifts.

In all cases the screen looks absolutely fine when it is first drawn, it is only when you click on it or generally put the focus on it that the display problems occur. I have attached a file with various examples as pictures make more sense.

What confuses me more is that these display niggles do *not* happen when running the application from the OpenRoad 2006 workbench (new style) but they do when running an image built from that workbench or when running it from the OpenRoad 2006 Classic workbench. Also if you put another window on top of the window giving you the problems the display gremlins disappear and don't come back until you close the window down.

Has anybody else had this sort of problem?

Thanks
Phillip

The new IDE is startet with the "-realfields" flag (see properties of your desktop/menu shortcuts), whereas when you run an OpenROAD app from image or use the "classic" workbench this doesn't use the flag.
You should open a service desk issue for it (perhaps there is already a patch available).
I wouldn't recommend to use "-reafields" flag as a general approach as this can have some negative performance impact.

This is great info -thanks. Setting the -realfields flag on the image does indeed make it display properly.

Default Please provide a test case..

Phillip,

As Bodo suggested, please open a service desk issue for this painting problem. A test case would be very helpful resolving this issue so that others will have smoother sailing in the future.
