- New Forum and Download Solution to be Rolled out on Friday July 25th
On Friday, July 25th beginning at 6:00 AM PST, the Ingres Community Forums (http://community.ingres.com/forums) will be unavailable as we roll out an updated solution. The forums are expected back online by Noon PST, but could be up earlier if everything goes according to plan. During the same timeframe, we will also be rolling out a new Downloads solution. We apologize for any incovenience.
- New Skin for the Ingres Community Wiki Site.
We are in the process of changing the Skin for our wiki site to allow users to get the full benefit of their monitors' real estate. If you just browse the Ingres Wiki site without logging in, you'll see the immediate effect of the change. However, when you log into the Ingres Wiki, if you encounter any problems, please check the setting for the Skin settings as the new default is not always taking effect. To check your setting for the default skin, you can view/update your user preference using the following method:
- Select My Preferences in the right hand corner of the screen
- Select Skin
- Select MonoBook (default) instead of the Classic
- Select Save
With this change, you'll now have the new Ingres wiki default available throughout the site.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

Welcome to the Ingres Community Wiki
One of the main motivators behind this community wiki is to provide a tool through which we can build a large and active community that will share ideas and foster innovation and continue the Ingres tradition of providing a stable and secure solution set for use in mission critical deployments.
Anyone may read the contents of the wiki without logging in. If you wish to contribute through discussion, edits and new content, please join our community.
Our expectation is that members of the Ingres community will regularly:
- Share example code as well as tips and tricks that they've accumulated
- Contribute new ideas, code or bug fixes
- Test new features and releases early in the development cycle
- Provide input into product plans and roadmaps
- Write a blog entry for the Ingres Technical Blog
All contributions are needed and welcomed! It is people like you that will help to build an active and vibrant Ingres community.
