I worked for Ingres from 1991-1994 in Tech Support, responsible for all the Ingres and OpenROAD products on desktop platforms (Windows, NT, OS/2, SCO-Unix, InteractiveUnix, ...) and spent several months in the OpenROAD Development team in Alameda (mainly working on Frame Templates).
I left when CA took over ASK/Ingres and had my own little consulting & training company for the following years. During this time I was still involved with Ingres/OpenROAD technology, presented at several conferences (CA-World, IngresWorld, GermanIUA, etc.).
After spending a year with (Ingres partner) Fintechnix in Australia, I rejoined Ingres in 2006 as a member of the OpenROAD Development team. There I'm amongst others responsible for porting OpenROAD to the Unix platforms. Currently my main focus is on extending the XML support capabilities of OpenROAD and I'm very interested in integrating OpenROAD with Software Configuration Management (SCM) systems.
